Traveling to the Hunter Valley

The Hunter Valley is a short 2 hours drive north of Sydney and a leisurely 1 hour drive from Newcastle.

Self Drive from Sydney
Route 1: Over Sydney Harbour Bridge & follow the Pacific Hwy towards Hornsby. Before Hornsby (at Wahroonga) take National Highway 1 (F3 Freeway) north towards Newcastle. After 100kms (1 hour), exit the National Hwy 1 at the Cessnock/Hunter Valley Vineyards exit sign. Follow the signs to Cessnock/Vineyards.
Route 2: Tourist Route T33 – Turn off National Hwy 1 (F3 Freeway) at Peats Ridge. This route will take you through scenic mountains and via parts of the historic convict trail & into Wine Country at the historic town of Wollombi.

By Coach
Experience the freedom of travelling by coach. Several of our tour operators pick up & deliver from Sydney.

By Train.
Enjoy viewing the beautiful landscapes on the way to Wine Country through the window of a train. Stations at Maitland, Newcastle or Morisset. For a timetable call 131 500. Connecting buses from Maitland and Newcastle are available. For a bus timetable call 131 500.

By Plane
• Cessnock Airport – by private charter or through Sydney Seaplanes.
• Newcastle Airport – Daily flights from Melbourne, Brisbane and NE Queensland by Virgin Blue & Jetstar. Daily flights by Tiger Air from Melbourne. Daily flights from Sydney with Aeropelican. When should I arrive?
We will be staying in the Hunter Valley from the 11th to the 18th November 2009, you are more than welcome to join us a little early for an extended break or come just for the weekend.
